Just like every house is different, so too are mitigation systems.
On-site evaluation and diagnostic testing is the best way to design and install a mitigation system that will work as intended.
Depending on the circumstances, we will utilize a number of different systems to keep your home safe from Radon Gas.
The most typical is called “sub-slab de-pressurization” With these systems our goal is to lower the pressure underneath your slab so it is less than the pressure inside your house. Using a correctly sized fan we are able to “pull” the Radon out of the soil and exhaust it to the outside where it will simply dissipate.
All of our Radon reduction systems are guaranteed to reduce Radon levels to 75 Bq/m3.
Since long-term exposure to elevated levels of radon poses a serious health risk, and radon levels can change daily, it is best to test for radon with a long-term test of 91 days or more. For most single-family homes, duplexes or apartments, you only need to test in one room (for homes with larger square footage you may want to consider testing in two different areas).
